John W Kaye is a local songwriting enthusiast and singer who has been at it for quite some time. The “John Kay” from Steppenwolf sound alike seems to always come up in a search, so adding the “W” is helpful. John has a degree in writing from WMU. Involved with several local bands, going back to a great local garage band “Peter and the Profits.” Has an album out now that you really must hear. He is a contributing member of a local songwriting group (GRSA). He likes to keep refining his songwriting process. Enjoys playing several instruments.
lyrics
Have you heard about the girl that can play that thing?
Well I could listen each and every day
And she plays with the stars and the sun and the moon
I believe everything they say
She picks me up when I’m so down
She knows and I didn’t have to say
She picks up the fiddle I fly away... Such love, Jenee
Jenee, she starts playin and will tell you everything there is to know
Jenee, even little kids like to dance until their feet grow sore
Well, I never thought it could be this good
Now I believe it every time she plays
Come on in unpack the violin Good to see you Jenee
Now I can’t think of what was bringin me down
Can’t think no matter how hard I try
And I’d like to be dancin’ in her arms
Just like every other guy
Did anybody ever really move like that?
I let out an audible sigh
Well I like to hear her play every single way
Sweeter than a pecan pie
Jenee, she plays those strings
and she sings like and angel in the sky
Jenee she starts playin all you can say is “my my”
Well I thought I’d seen every thing
Thought I was a reasonable guy
She starts playin and it takes me away… Jenee can take you flyin
